Already a £400m industry in Yorkshire and the Humber, employing 5,000 people in over 120 companies, recycling is big business. And it is set to grow rapidly, driven by new targets, legislation and customer demands.
The market opportunities for recycled materials are expanding fast. Now is the time for Yorkshire and the Humber to capitalise on these opportunities.
Recycling Action Yorkshire is a not-for-profit, regional programme funded by Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund. RAY will work in partnership with national and regional stakeholders to stimulate the market for recycled materials throughout the recycling chain from collection and reprocessing, to manufacture and sustainable procurement.
With support from LG-YH RAY is developing sector-specific networks.
